There are plenty of places you can see the bad news stories of the week (ICE insanity, the aftermath of the horrific Texas floods made somehow even worse thanks to KKKristi Noem’s, etc), but I don’t want to be that place today.
I want to celebrate the wins of the week, because they’re all Trump’s losses.
Did you know Trump lost yet another appeal to our Shero E. Jean Carroll yesterday? Because he just can’t stop losing to the woman he couldn’t stop defaming. It’s so glorious.
I love watching him lose to her so so so much. The only way this news would’ve been better is if it had broken before E. Jean joined us on THE TARA SHOW.
It was the joy of my year thus far that wasn’t connected to my beloved Low Bar Chorale. Afterwards, I sent my Shero a thank you, and she replied with her usual perfection.
Trump’s entire week was about the Epstein Files, and it’s finally gotten actual traction in the media outside of my Substack.
He can try to distract from it any way he wants, but MAGA can’t figure out what to do about their feelings now that they know Pam Bondi lied to them. As I wrote for Political Voices Network, they know they’re supposed to want to have the Epstein Files released because of Bill Clinton. But all they got were binders full of redactions, so they want to know if Bill Clinton didn’t do the Bad Things, then who could’ve possibly done them?
The schadenfreude is tasting like a box of Cracker Jack while watching the circus. Whatever else is going on, I’m going to remind people that Trump is all over the Epstein Files every day.
The added bonus attention to my year-old Trump/Epstein blog has boosted your girl to some serious visibility this week, thank you very much.
*cue Jim Morrison voice* NUMBER THIRTEEN RISIN’!
Please help keep my mojo going by sharing this Substack and also telling people about my rock and roll love story, The Sound of Settling, which is why I’m rising in Fiction, not Politics. I’m going to use E. Jean’s email as a blurb—with her blessing!—for the book once I get the proper deal and mass market printing.
I hope you all do something fun this weekend, because self-care is an essential and radical act of Resistance. I’m going to a street fair and a special Low Bar Chorale pop-up show with an all-hair metal setlist. As E. Jean said at the close of The Tara Show, we have to get all the joy we can in the world. So get out there and get some natural Vitamin D! Hit the beach with my book!
Nothing would bring me more joy than landing the book deal and having something that resembled financial security while knowing I contributed to giving you a nice little mental escape from reality for a while.
E Jean Carrol had so much fun with you guys. Totally enjoyed the entire interview. A year ago, I had just started your substack when you made the Epstein blockbuster. Still do this day, I have nghtmares from the Florida Grand Jury transcripts. You were totally ahead of the game.
By the way.....when the Orange Gestapo did the rice paddy sweep in MacArther Park........were they really after..... and did they find the cake that was left out in the rain?
