ELON ISN'T A HERO, STEPHANIE RUHLE TAKES AN OBTUSE ANGLE, & HOW DO ROYALTIES WORK, AGAIN?
Wednesday, what are you doing to me?
PSA to anyone who thinks Elon Musk is a hero for going to Israel, especially if that anyone is Jewish:
NO HE FUCKING IS NOT, PERIODT.
Elon went for the photo op to stand next to Netanyahu amid massive backlash for his anti-Semitic tweets on the app we will always call Twitter no matter how many times he takes a Diet Coke-and-Adderall-induced dump all over our beloved former favorite communications tool.
I know that sounds like Trump, and it’s not a coincidence.
Everyone needs to stop thinking that nepo baby billionaires are natural-born leaders when they keep proving they absolutely are not. Elon can’t keep rockets or cars or Twitter from exploding, and he’s the South African son of two white supremacists, so he isn’t called “Apartheid Clyde” for nothing.
If I catch any fellow members of the Tribe praising that Jew-hater for pandering to the MAGA masses along with his dipshit Muskbois, I’m going to read them to Yiddish filth.
Moving on to the other aforementioned nepo baby, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle asked her TikTok followers last night why Trump won’t go away in a video where she talks about Trump the whole time.
Instead of just internally screaming, I decided to do this instead.
Reminder: I STILL DO NOT HAVE A JOB WRITING ABOUT POLITICS OR ANY OTHER JOB, so I hope Stephanie decides to have me on her show so I can essentially audition for people who pay people to do politics correctly.
Which brings us to THE SOUND OF SETTLING, my beloved rock & roll love story that’s getting the kind of rave reviews that should have Hollywood producers fighting over who gets to option it for the most money.

Today I received my first-ever royalty payment from Amazon KDP which was far less than what I thought I would be getting because I didn’t understand their explanation of how their payouts work because Amazon is the worst at helping or explaining.
The amount I've been budgeting around for my 1st payout (today) was the total from the last 90 days. But what I got was just the royalties from September, when it was first released.
That’s 1/3 of what I was expecting, because it was unclear to me as to how the payouts are broken down. So while I'm happy I'm selling books ("Congratulations!" said the lovely young-sounding guy who was very kind and patiently explained things)
I’ll always get a month’s royalties two months later. So, October’s royalties will come in at the end of December, November’s at the end of January 2024, etc.
Which means I don’t have all of the monies I thought I’d have today. And rent is due this weekend.
SO! While I keep waiting for that Hollywood bidding war, here’s what I’ll ask you for, Dear Subscriber/Reader:
If you haven’t bought The Sound Of Settling yet, PLEASE DO! Literally every copy I sell matters. Also, I fixed all the font issues so you can actually read the paperback, which would make for a lovely holiday gift for the readers on your list. Also, PLEASE rate it 5 stars, because apparently Amazon ignores the 4-star ratings when it comes to boosting visibility. Finally, please share the link on your socials. Word-of-mouth is everything to a struggling indie author.
If you’re not currently a paid subscriber, please consider a paid subscription at any of the price points. I’ll try to deliver on my promises, especially as I start outlining the next book project
Do you know a literary agent who’s open to queries? Tell me about them, because I decided to self-publish after 50 rejections and kept getting rejections even as the raves were rolling in.
Do you know someone hiring writers to write things? Tell me about them too please!
Tweet Stephanie Ruhle and ask her to have me on her show.
Thank you for being here, my friends. We’re all in this together, you know. Except Trump, he’s a dick.
My substack on Elon such as it is is now out https://nickcarlson.substack.com/p/why-i-am-resentful-of-elon-musk?utm_source=profile&utm_medium=reader2
Speaking of Taras, Tara Strong (who has been emotionally affected by the Hamas attacks big time) liked this tweet. Ten days after agreeing with me about Elon being an anti Semite
