It's time to get re-organized, fellow Democrats

Sen. Chuck Schumer did a shandah on Shabbas by supporting sociopaths.

Instead of unifying the Democrats to vote against the non-partisan Continuing Resolution (CR), Chucklefuck managed to convince nine other Senate Democrats to vote with him, handing Elonald Musktrump unlimited power for the rest of this fiscal year, which ends in September. These are the Senators who are going to get primaried now, so get ready for that. Never stop reminding them of what they did.

It’s the first time Democrats have voted to prevent a government shutdown without having any say in what’s in the CR. It’s a dirty bit of business to let the world’s least successful businessman liquidate America’s financial assets because he’s not just a Russian asset, he’s a Russian asset who can’t stop confessing to rigging the election thanks to his new bestie StepBroligarch, Elon “Clarice Starlink” Musk.

The ten Democratic detractors argued that supporting the CR would be better for the country than a shutdown, but that’s wrong. It’s never better to support a fascist dictator having unlimited power, especially when he’s also a convicted felon adjudicated rapist who’s been owned by Vladimir Putin since 1987.

Schumer needs to step down as Senate Minority Leader ASAP. We need a stronger and more progressive voice, preferably belonging to someone who’s not a white male over the age of 75.

Democrats have always had a deep bench of rising stars who the elder statespeople often overshadow, and that needs to stop. I’m a big fan of Sens. Cory Booker, Angela Alsobrooks, Chris Murphy, Mark Kelly, Amy Klobuchar, and Jon Ossoff, the youngest Senator at age 38. Elizabeth Warren would also be an excellent Minority Leader because she scares the shit out of Donald Trump and understands how the Fed works. You’ll notice Trump only gives juvenile nicknames to the people he can’t bully into submission, and that’s why Sen. Warren might be the best choice.

We also need our own Democratic Press Secretary, which I’ve been screaming about since the first week of February. If Jessica Tarlov can’t get out of her Fox News contract, then it can be Pete Buttigieg now that he’s announced he’s not running for Senate in 2026. It just needs to happen so that we can have someone telling the media the truth as soon as Heritage Ho KKKaroline Lie-vitt finishes her daily Project 2025 press briefing.

A Democratic Press Secretary could also tell the country what the rest of the media doesn’t, like how a Special Election is coming up in a few weeks that could win back our House majority. Weird how nobody seems to be talking about it, which is why I’m here, my friends.

PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THIS SPECIAL ELECTION. It’s insane that Democratic leadership isn’t talking about it at all. It’s up to us to make shit happen.

I also did a lot of truth-telling on my friend Dean Obeidallah’s show on SIRIUSXM Progress this week. The new “BullBusters” segment is all about fact checking the MAGA lies, which is about the easiest thing in the world to do other than breathing.

This is how we’ll keep going. That’s the plan. We won’t give up on our country even if others have. CALL YOUR SENATORS and tell them to replace Schumer. Boost those three Democrats who can flip the House back to Blue.

Seeing as I just broke my promise to myself to not write about politics on the weekend, now I have to balance it by getting back to something that also matters to me along with the truth: BOOSTING MY BOOK.

Yes, I know it’s the worst possible time to do any self-promotion about anything. But that also makes it the best possible time to seek an escape—even temporarily. I took a week off from promoting The Sound of Settling thanks to the Amazon Blackout, and it shows in my very meager sales for March so far. February’s sales were dismal, so it would be nice to at least do better this month. If you haven’t already gotten your copy, you can rectify that now. If you’re still boycotting Amazon (which I fully encourage), you can buy it from Powell’s or have your local indie bookstore order a copy.
