The optimism of a New Year sure is cute, huh?
Far too many people are worrying that 2024 will be a repeat of 2016. It’s like they keep forgetting about Donald Trump’s court calendar, which is longer than his dumb red tie.
[Seriously, how has no one ever taught fetid Captain Underpants how to tie a tie like an adult?]
If Donald Trump had been found liable for raping E. Jean Carroll in 2013 instead of 2023, he wouldn’t have been able to run for President in 2016. If Donald Trump had even one criminal charge against him, let alone NINETY-ONE, at that time, no one would’ve aligned with him. Before he flung his days-old full Depends all over our political norms, exactly ZERO members of the GOP would’ve wanted any of the Trump taint on them.
But blackmail is a hell of a thing, innit? That’s how we went from Ted Cruz telling the truth about how Trump uses projection language to becoming Diaper Don’s permanent toilet/bidet.
THEY ALL KNEW what he was. Now they act like they never said these things. Gah.
Anyway, now that Nikki Nimarata Haley and her weird sweaters can’t hold Trump accountable or explain the Civil War, people are thinking the GOP nominee can only be Trump.
I contend it’ll be Chris Christie, aka Gov. Otis Bridgegate. I’m not a fan, but he’s the only one who says truthful things about Trump. Also, he doesn’t support a federal six-week abortion ban. Those are the only nice things I can say about him, but that should be enough for the GOP to embrace him at a time when they’re not getting anything done on purpose.

Sidebar: I’m perfectly content being single 99.99999% of the time because menopause has rendered me dead inside, but I have a little social media crush on Andy Ostroy. Who of course lives in NYC and has zero reasons to come to Portland, it’s fine.
But ANYWAY, let’s wrap up this first post of 2024 on a positive note. I’ve now sold 417 copies of THE SOUND OF SETTLING and passed 18,000 pages read on Kindle. The (real) reviews continue to be stellar, and I’ve written 180 pages of a sequel thanks to essentially being a shut-in because The Poors.
Please support your pal Tara and buy and share THE SOUND OF SETTLING. But if you just can’t afford it right now—and no one understands this better than I do—please click here and give it a 5-star rating before you move on to the next thing you’re going to do today. It’s free, it takes very little effort on your part, and it will boost my visibility. EVERYONE WINS (but especially if you also buy and read the book)!
Thank you, and PS, #TrumpSmells
It is not exactly free to be able to leave five stars. You can't leave reviews on Amazon if you haven't spent $50 in last 12 months can leave a review/rating. But I did request Multnomah County Library purchase your book.
Tara! I swear by this bio-identical HRT that I only started 2 months ago with amazing results. It's yam based instead questionable soy based. https://www.rejuve.com/
