My last pair of glasses was in 2017 when I still had vision benefits which covered most of it. In the subsequent years I have had cataract surgery (both eyes but mostly covered by current insurance because it's a "medical procedure". Then I had to get the scar tissue lasered off them but it was covered by the original doc). This time we discovered that the right eye has degraded significantly -- if I close the other and lean way forward, I can read the text on the screen but with the new prescription, new frame, same lens options -- no line bifocal, blue light, color-change lenses -- the bill for the whole day was over $1000 but they gave me a discount so it was "only" $943. And I know I need to replace at least 2 tires but the other 2 aren't much better. I'll do that in April.

Tara, I am commiserating.

My day was nowhere near your bad day.

But I just came back from a funeral service. Only I didn't go in.

I had to go alone because hubby is in DC. I've never been to Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery and nothing is marked.

I couldn’t tell which was the “Old Church “ where they were holding the service.

Two separate jerks insanely aggressively sped around me, IN THE CEMETERY!

And I'm a Parisian driver!

Then there was a huge group of mourners all in black by one grave site. Haunting image. No way I was going to walk up if it was wrong group.

Same in both churches, where there were groups but they were completely unmarked, I didn't want to disturb.

Also, the wind here in SoCal is really scary right now.

All that plus there’s some bad energy out there. So many crazies out on streets.

Maybe Mercury is in retrograde?

But I also think between coming lunar and solar eclipses, I’m just staying home for a while.

All that to say, be safe out there everyone. It's going to be crazy for the next month.
