Facts will never matter to them as long as the truth makes Trump look bad
Hey, did you know Donald Trump is now officially a convicted felon? And did you know that it doesn’t matter at all to his willfully obtuse base of profoundly stupid slackjawed yokels?
The “Fuck Your Feelings” cult sure is being extra thin-skinned and snowflakey right now, and it’s glorious to watch all of their favorite MAGA bullying tactics come back to bite them on their diapered asses.
It’s well past the time to stop saying there’s any equivalence between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
I’m 55, which is literally old enough to remember when bad things about Democratic candidates ended their political careers. Because WE ended them.
John Edwards and Gary Hart were canceled over their affairs. Howard Dean let out one barbaric yawp and watched his campaign implode. Michael Avenatti is in prison because he’s a lying extortionist piece of shit.
Hell, even Dan Quayle can’t escape the letter “e” for the rest of his life thanks to The Chalkboard Incident.
But 34 felony charges? No big, says the MAGA Cult. They’re trying every possible spin to see which one sticks to the walls like old blobs of Heinz Ketchup.
“It’s a Democratic witch hunt led by Soros-owned Alvin Bragg and Joe Biden’s Crooked DOJ,” they parrot anti-Semitically.
Hunter Biden has to be in court on Monday for some pretty bullshit reasons, but it’s under his dad’s DOJ, just saying.
It also doesn’t matter to them that a jury unanimously found Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts.
“The jury was rigged!” they whine just like Dear Leader playing his invisible accordion in front of the courthouse.
You mean the jury that was accepted by the “defense” team? Including the juror who said she got “most of” her news from Truth Social?
“You can’t get a fair trial in New York!” they cry.
Tell it to E. Jean Carroll, losers.
“He’s going to appeal!” they brag.
Good luck with that, considering he can’t afford an appeal and they have zero pages of new evidence to exonerate him. It’s kind of hard to overturn 34 felonies when you’ve got nothing to show the court.
“WE DON’T CARE IF HE’S A FELON!” they scream.
Fine, be in a cult, I can’t stop you. But at least stop pretending you’re any kind of a patriot when you choose loyalty to a convicted felon adjudicated rapist who committed election interference. And who’s still got three YUGE trials ahead of him that he’s also going to lose because you can’t defend the indefensible.

I wish I could make Trump’s criminality matter to his cult. I think it’ll matter to the bulk of Americans who aren’t on Twitter and would prefer to not have a convicted felon in the Oval Office.
I don’t know how many people watch MSNBC, so Thursday evening I switched over to ABC News to see how they covered the historical charges against Trump. I was delighted that David Muir didn’t even refer to him as “former President,*” and just said, “Donald Trump was convicted.”
Their coverage was straightforward and not at all biased. They presented the facts of the trial and the jury’s decision. I also don’t know how many people watch David Muir every night, but I hope people who watch the network news can process facts without using their feelings as a barometer.
The only way to change the conversation around the 2024 election is to do it ourselves by being louder than the MAGA Cult. Democrats don’t like to toot their own horns, but having a Presidential nominee who isn’t a convicted felon adjudicated rapist is a talking point they should fully embrace.
If you’re still on Twitter, it’s time to start showing MAGA what accountability looks like. Nothing they tweet will change the fact that Trump is now a convicted felon. That he still has Congressional support is a blight on our democracy. If you see a tweet from a Republican defending Trump, ask them why they’ve chosen loyalty to a felon over their country.

Switching the gears, it’s now June, wow! May was a surprisingly meh month sales-wise, but The Sound of Settling has now surpassed the Devil number of 666 copies sold! We’re up to 668, so June’s sales goal is 700 copies. Don’t make me beg you to buy and share it, I’ve done that enough this week.
Also, there are only TWO copies left on the shelf at Powell’s, which was fun to see yesterday when I popped in during a nice walk I took around downtown Portland.

Finally, I have my second colonoscopy on Monday, which means I’ll be in a fetal position on my bathroom floor starting tomorrow around 6 pm, yay! So if I don’t post for a couple of days, that’s because sitting up at my desk really isn’t an option. I found out there’s a pill you can take instead of chugging that awful drink, but the pill costs $180! Maybe next time, because hopefully by then I’ll be nice and financially stable thanks to my proper publishing deal and streaming series.
If you’re 45+, please schedule your colonoscopy. The entire thing sucks (and blows, literally), but it sure beats having cancer.
